The Hunter Valley... Through The Lens
The Hunter Valley is where I called home for much of my life. It’s where my family had a farm for many years.  The farm is gone now, but this: This is still my home.
It’s an area most famous for its award-winning wines but it’s also a place where sheep are raised, wheat is grown, champion racehorses are bred and delicious dairy is produced.  It’s also a place – now – where coal ripped from the earth, forever marking the land and beauty of the area.
I want to share what I found – and continue to find –  to be beautiful side of the Hunter Valley.

Pelicans! I'm like a giggling school girl whenever I see white pelicans and these ones were sassy!

More amazing skies in the Hunter. Port Stephens in March. Still warm enough to swim.

The sunsets are amazing no matter where you are in the Hunter. This one was in Port Stephens. Gorgeous, right?

From the shore to the vineyards to further out to the edge of the outback, the Hunter is beautiful at every turn.

  1. Maitland has grown a lot over the years, don’t you think?

  2. This is so beautiful. I was an Exchange Student to Maitland and we’ve just been back in January. Your post definitely made me homesick, too. My dream would be to move to the Hunter.
