While most Sydneysiders know about Cockatoo Island, few have ever visited, let alone stayed overnight. I was one of those people. I’d been by countless times on the Rivercat (ferry), gazing up to the heritage buildings, wondering about the history and the secrets from long ago. But I’d never set foot on Cockatoo Island. Staying within Kosciuszko National Park is perfect to base yourself when visiting N.S.W.’s Snowy Mountains. It’s beautiful and you can be one with nature.
The Sapphire Coast…Through The Lens. A beautiful spot on the N.S.W. southern border. We love this area so much it’s now on our ‘possible settle’ list.

This is the destination for the romantic weekend getaway, the girl’s weekend retreat or even just a weekend to yourself. So, here’s how to spend 48 hours in The Southern Highlands.
While travelling indefinitely, we’re discovering AirBnbs to be invaluable. Not only do they provide space to spread out, constant WiFi and washing facilities, but some offer truly unique stays. For our Aussie 10 month road trip, we’re finding them to be cheaper than holiday parks and hotels! This is definitely the way to go!
