During our travels, we’ve found we determine the vibe of a place very quickly. Most times, it’s positive and with an uplifting energy. In Loch Sport, we didn’t find at that all. If it wasn’t for the fact that we were housesitting and loving the pets we were looking after, we wouldn’t have stayed for more than a day.
When I asked where my daughter wanted to go on a road trip, I never thought South Dakota would be the answer. It turned out to be an EPIC roadtrip! As in life-changing.
Rich and I have wanted to stay at a lighthouse for a long time. Most lighthouses in Australia have lightkeeper cottages which can be rented for a night or two but the cost to stay is usually pretty outrageous.
Point Hicks is located on the north east of Victoria. While it takes an hour on an unsealed road to reach the lighthouse, it’s an off the grid experience you will treasure.

Staying at Point Hicks was definitely a highlight for me. It truly felt off the grid and I relaxed. What made it interesting was the storm…and the ghost.
People are often curious what life is like on the road for us. So, we’ve decided to start an ongoing list of the positives and negatives of travelling full time. This is a living, breathing being that we will add to, edit etc…as we travel. Our travels at this point are indefinite, so it’ll be interesting what’s added over time!
Before we left The Treehouse in Sydney, we decided we would spend Easter in the Snowy Mountains. It was time for chill out time with the girl.
